Rodeway Inn Carlsbad Caverns Area

I stayed with my family for two nights, December 25 and 26, 2025, at Roadway Inn in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Overall, our stay was decent. The property was managed by a Telugu Indian family who were very kind, caring, and welcoming throughout our visit. We had an issue with the door not working properly, but they genuinely tried their best to resolve it and were straightforward and helpful during the process. Considering the price we paid and the room that was provided, the stay felt fair and reasonable. One small recommendation would be to improve the freshness of the bedding, as the bed had a slight odor. Additionally, noise from the neighboring room could sometimes be heard. Aside from these minor points, the hospitality of the family running the motel stood out and was appreciated.

Positive: The location was perfect for my visit to Carlsbad. Negative: The room was not clean...it looked like it hadn't been vaccuumed, the faucet was dirty, there were flies and moths in the room.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would happily recommend it. One thing that truly stood out was how incredibly friendly and helpful the staff were. I even lost a valuable personal item during my stay, and the hotel staff went above and beyond to assist me, they were kind enough to ship it back to me. I am genuinely very grateful for their honesty and exceptional service. The location is also a big plus. The hotel is about 15 minutes from Cavern and is conveniently located right on the main strip, with plenty of nearby options for fuel and food. The room itself was decent, clean, and comfortable. CHECK HAIR ON PILLOW and UNDER BLANKET before checking in . The bedsheets and pillows had hair when I checked in. The receptionist was friendly and allowed me to switch to different rooms. Other rooms had same problems. The housekeeper didn't clean bedsheets and put bedsheets from previous guests. The receptionist and manager lady were fair enough to refund for cancellation
