Rocking Bear Cabin

The cabin was nice, but was not what we were expecting. The views are very limited because of the trees. The hot tub didn't work, which was a big disappointment as that was a big reason we chose that cabin. When we called, we were initially told they would put in a request for a service call. The following day we called again and were informed that the motor would need replaced, so they offered us $25 off each night of our stay. I wondered why they didn't contact us but didn't dwell on it. I then discovered a review from 6 months ago when the same thing happened to another person. I understand it may take some time to get the hot tub repaired, but I believe they should inform guests rather than allowing them to believe it was a recent problem.

I am aware of the fire (3700ac) that caused Timber Tops to not be able to rent 60 cabins which started on Wednesday. However, when we arrived at our cabin (Rocking Bear) we found out that the hot tub was not working. When we inquired about it we were given the option of either $25 off for each nights stay ($75) or tickets for one of the attractions ($82), we chose Wonderworks. So we didn't decide until this am on which attraction and now, we're on voice mail after 20+ minutes on hold and have not been able to get our tickets. So, why were we not informed that the hot tub was inoperative before our arrival? I suspect that they didn't want to take the chance that we would cancel. Best view we could ask for! Cabin super clean and cozy, loved this spot, not to hard to drive to. Hot tub was amazing! Cute Christmas decorations were a huge plus as we were there to go to Dollywood’s Christmas Events! Decor was perfect. Also the wifi and cable were great!

My husband and I went for our 2 year wedding anniversary and our view was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed staying in the cozy cabin. I couldn’t of asked for a better place to stay and visit Gatlinburg TN. I highly recommend staying here!

Rocking Bear was, overall, an OK cabin. Full disclosure, this was not our first pick as Wyndham informed us three days before vacation time that they sold our cabin. So, we rushed to get a cabin that at least came close to what we were looking for in the limited time we had. Pros: Relatively close to everything (Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Zip Lining, etc), nice and safe drive up the mountain, great views, and comfy bed. Cons: No WiFi (this actually ended up not being so bad, but still inconvenient), awkward floor plan including cumbersome spiral staircase, crowded, especially downstairs with a pool table right in the middle of the room, small TVs that sit far away from couches/beds, could use better cleaning prior to arrival, and a dysfunctional oven.
