Riverside Motel

My most favorite place to stay. The Riverside Motel, it is a trip back in time to 1954 when it was built by Meezie's grandmother and survived that Year's hurricane and every one since. The comfortable guest rooms are impeccably clean and outfitted with cotton sheets and towels and comforters reminiscence of grandmas extra bedroom. It sits on the waterfront in Southport and most of the rooms have a private back porch with a porch swing that faces the waterfront. The perfect place to rest relax renew and take a vacation from everything. The very welcoming and friendly staff make guests feel completely at home. I plan to go back as often as possible. We had an outstanding time, on our longest stay at Riverside Motel. Though we move a few times, the staff made things as convenient as possible. We celebrated 42 years of marriage, during this stay.

This was our first time staying here and we have already made reservations for again next year. I get an email to confirm and to see if we needed anything extra added to our room. I received a phone call the afternoon that we were coming to let us know that the room was unlocked and ready for us. This just added a personal touch that didn't go unnoticed. Thank you for a great place to stay. Beautiful, comfortable and very affordable.

fantastic location. able to walk to a bevy of bars/restaurants...sit on the back patio and watch the freighters head up to Wilmington. walking distance to town. only gave 4 stars because internet was un-usable for work demands. (they moved me to another room and internet was better)

When we pulled into the parking lot, we were immediately greeted by the manager, Suzanne Williams. Her warm and cheery greeting signalledthe beginning of our positive experience at this wonderful motel. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The riverfront view from our private patio of freighters and other watercraft enhanced our experience. Very relaxing stay. Can't wait to return. Best hot shower, too.
