River Run Inn

River Run Inn is one of those places that immediately feels special. Nestled along the banks of the Methow River, the setting is spectacular—quiet, open, and deeply grounding. A string of beautifully restored old farm buildings and cabins, all decorated with thoughtful western style, stretches along the river like beads. Like any great hospitality spot, the experience ultimately reflects its owner, and Penny brings exactly what matters most: excellent taste and genuine attentiveness. The Guest House is ideal for a large group or family, with a high-capacity kitchen, plenty of beds, and a spacious deck overlooking the river. The cabins are cozy, comfortable, and well-appointed. WE HAVE BEEN STAYING AT THE RIVER RUN INN SINCE 1997. Obviously, we LOVE it. For over 20 years, we led a ski club trip and stayed in the lodge. Lots of fond memories. With the pandemic, we bowed out of that responsibility. My husband, I, and our dog have continued staying at the River Run, but we stay for a full week now. This year, we enjoyed staying in one of the cabins, which was wonderfully comfortable, spacious, and allowed us to make our own meals. Penni, the host, is delightful and bends over backwards to make sure your needs are met. The River Run is on the edge of the Methow River, and I love watching the changing colors of the clouds reflected in the water and snow, from amber to violet to pink. It's absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. I highly recommend it! Carol K.

The most peaceful, serene, and amazing place to stay in Winthrop! We had the most heavenly time being by the river, the beautiful scenery, our own deck, the grassy area, spacious and clean room, and Penni went above and beyond to take care of us. Made us feel like we were "home". Best place ever for a truly top of the line, relaxing, beautiful place to stay. It was perfect! :)

We Go to Winthrop every fall for the beauty of highway 20. The fall colors and early mountain snow. It is a great experience and the town is beautiful this time of year|We usually spend the days exploring the surrounding mountains and a trip up Hearts Pass.|These are the Best Cabins in the Area - Dog friendly, Very roomy, modern and comfortable, kitchens with cooktops or full range. More reasonably priced and only a half mile from main town area. There may be nicer, larger more expensive ones I'm sure but the value is here | Used to be a fire pit but with the history of fires in the area i can see why it had to go. |dont tell anyone else

A lovely rural riverside room. Comfortable bed. Refrigerator a bit noisy. The fall colors were gorgeous! Nice swing set, riverside chairs, wildlife. Relaxing getaway. We enjoyed barbecue in Twisp. Twisp also has a Les Schwab, which we needed to read our check engine light code.
