Rim Rock Inn

Lots of positives and only a minor negative overall. We stayed in one of the cabins for a one night stay as part of a 3 week road trip, and were lucky to get the end cabin, for extra space and privacy. One of the reasons for choosing this place was that the rates are decent for the area, and there are some food options on site, with another restaurant across the road in another motel, so even if you don't want to drive back down the road to the main area in town, you're sorted for dinner. Check in was ok, the guy on the desk was quite quiet and not super helpful, but we found that more of a feature on this recent visit to the US across the board when checking into a variety of styles of accommodation. It's maybe a combination of a 'younger generation/Gen Z' thing, and the post-covid era

Positive: The view Negative: Very dated room. No refrigerator, microwave or coffee pot. Very small with title storage. High price for quality of room.

Great views from the back porch of the cabin. Clean and comfortable. Only thing I would suggest is they upgrade their hot water heater. I don’t take long hot showers and it was a challenge for o get out before running out of hot water (that’s without washing my hair). Nice and close proximity to the park. A few places to eat. Would definitely recommend Capitol burgers and Curry pizza. The closest grocery store is roughly 25 minutes away. Would definitely come back and stay here

Rooms offer gorgeous, expansive views of the Capital Reef National Park, and are clean and pleasant. However, rooms include no refrigerator or microwave, or even a coffee maker, making it impossible to heat water aside from the tap water. No refrigerator can be problematic when traveling with a dog or young child, or if on a special diet. Coffee and pastries are provided mornings in the lobby. Rat traps are all over and I saw a rat scurrying down along the veranda. One might want to think twice before dining in the onsite restaurant.

Rim rock Inn has so much potential-but they just seem to fall short. The location is fantastic and the staff were really nice. The rooms were underwhelming. They seemed "clean," but the stains on the carpet, lumpy mattress, torn bedspread and cobwebs on the light fixtures and in all the corners of the rooms...made it feel unkempt. For the price point and value of the room, we probably would not stay here again.
