Rest Haven Motel

25 minute walk from downtown Santa Monica. Area felt safe. Parking lot was small, but the manager assured us they would be able to help us find a space if it became full. Staff was extremely nice. Working toilet. Room was clean. Only thing is it was very cramped. If you're a budget traveler and don't need a lot of space, this could be a great choice for you. Though, if you prefer the typical more spacious American Inns, this is not that.

The owners here are very welcoming and personable. The bed in the room was comfy and the desk in my room can be automatically raised or lowered to your likeness. There was a refrigerator, flat screen TV, hair dryer, complimentary toiletries in my room. The shower was also nice. The motel has a garden on the back as well. There is a jack in the box restaurant very close to the motel.||Take note that they charge $100 deposit at check in.

We stayed here in Santa Monica for 2 nights. The Motel is old, but plenty good enough. The location is quiet and convenient to many things in Santa Monica. The 10 freeway is just down the street, making it easy to get around(despite the awful traffic in LA) The room had a mini fridge, no microwave but basically all you need. The place was clean inside and out and there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The best part for me was Kim the lady who served us . Prior to my stay, I had spoken to Kim a couple of times and she was very pleasant and easy to deal with. When we arrived, she was on duty and showed us our room and gave beneficial local advice. Rest Haven Motel is a rare find in Santa Monica, because of Superior service, convenient location and low prices! It's safe for a single woman.||My bed and pillow were super comfortable and I had a great night sleep! I enjoyed having my window open and letting in fresh air during the early evening and the flowering bush out my window created a prettier view. Yes the bathroom is a bit older in style, however it has great charm and water pressure is great!! My room was cozy.||I highly recommend staying at this Motel, because it's like staying at a place in Europe. Kim (originally from Europe) and her husband run the show and they are caring, efficient, super friendly and take excellent care of each person's needs.||Parking is free and easy, you can walk to restaurants, bars, and stores

Service was good but rooms are bit old and comparatively small. The owner/manager is very friendly and helpful. There was no microwave or electric kettle provided. The location seemed safe. 7- Eleven and walgreens were on a 2 mins walk. Overall a good deal if you are looking for a place just to crash at night.
