Residence Inn by Marriott Washington, DC/Foggy Bottom

We had a quick 24 hour trip to DC and stayed here. SO glad we did! Great location, easy access from Metro, quiet and close to the monuments. Staff was wonderful, so kind, friendly, professional and accommodating! Room was clean and comfortable with a full kitchen. Hallway smelled so clean and fresh, like a warm hug when you walked off the elevator. Breakfast is available, but we did not have it due to our very early am flight. Thank you to all the hard-working staff here that made this a wonderful stay. We will be back!

Very comfortable beds in separate rooms with blackout curtains. Quiet, spacious suites, and the continential breakfast is a bit different every day, including a hot vegetarian option. The fitness room is quite small, but includes a couple of aerobic machines and some dumbbells.

I stayed at the Residence Inn Foggy Bottom with my family (including kids under age 12) over New Years. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. When I tried to check in and we realized that my third-party booking site reservation information had not been received by the hotel, the receptionist was very helpful and was able to get us a room at a better price than I had originally booked. The suite was spacious. We were able to come back from our day's adventure and stay up for a few hours playing board games and watching movies without feeling too cramped. My favorite thing about this hotel, however, is the amazing complimentary breakfast buffet. It was the best complimentary breakfast I've ever had. Very comfortable hotel with spacious rooms and kitchens - really convenient in the heart of Foggy Bottom (around the corner from GWU and Whole Foods). The rooms need updating, but are generally roomy and comfortable. Service is mostly outstanding (check-in was great, food service is great, check-out not so great). The elevators are really slow and they have a really annoying keycard requirement that is impossibly slow and difficult to use. Seems unnecessary since there is always someone at the front desk for security. I mentioned this to the gentleman at check out and he just stared at me with a look that I was some kind of moron. Aside from that, great stay and I will stay again.

TERRIBLE Management. DO NOT STAY HERE. Location is good for proximity to GW hospital but that is all that's even passable. They nickle and dime you as others have noted, don't honor rates given by Marriott and charge you more, are impossible to work with, manager refuses to speak to clients. Rudest people ever and dishonest. Before booking read all the reviews and this is a theme. This is not emblematic of a Marriott property and I found out it is managed by another company. A 1 star property at best. If you can stay anywhere else you should. Literally anywhere
