Residence Inn by Marriott Santa Barbara Goleta

This was a great location for us when we were visiting family in Santa Barbara. We have dogs staying out in the van but it was very nice to be able to walk them around outside and to discover the many little places this hotel has for pedestrians and their dogs! And let's talk about outside area with a life-size just for multiple fire pits and barbecues for people to just come together and visit! The rooms were fantastic. Plenty of space and microwaved refrigerator and stove if you wanted to cook or were there for a longer time. We were there for the breakfast and the staff keeps it fully stocked and they accommodate different dietary restrictions and preferences. We stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Santa Barbara – Goleta often when picking up or visiting our son at UCSB, and it has truly become our favorite hotel in the area. The staff are always incredibly warm and welcoming. I’d especially like to give a shout-out to Tommy, who has gone above and beyond to help us on multiple occasions! The complimentary breakfast buffet is excellent, with a great variety: freshly baked bread and bagels, egg and ham sandwiches, bacon, eggs, plenty of fresh fruit, and yogurt. The kitchen team is very kind and often accommodates guests who arrive a little late before closing. As a devout Marriott/Bonvoy member, I routinely book with this brand. The stay (one night only) was fine--neither bad nor outstanding.||The good:|The facility is adorable. The mission style exterior matches the vibe of nearby Santa Barbara perfectly. The outdoor amenities are great--games for the kids (and near kids) such as chess, ping-pong, and a putting green. Lovely outdoor BBQ space. Great deck area for hanging out with family.||The room was immaculately clean. ||The location is great if you are catching a train (easy walk to the Goleta train station) or airport.||The bad:|The location is not an easy walk to a place to grab a bite or a drink. Located across the street from the airport, this place is great. Rooms are great with a sofa & kitchen with a full size fridge. Out by the pool/spa are BBQ's, putting green, fire pit, corn hole & 2ft tall chess with ample seating. Ride share to downtown where all the restaurants are will run about $45-50.

I called before arriving, asking about the bedding. I told them I was traveling with 91 yr. old mother and 67 yr. old sister. I am 71. They offer 1 queen and told me extra double would be very comfortable. It was a pull out couch. When you remove the cushions from sofa, there is a note pasted on the pull out that my sheet are in a bag in the closet. The pull out was metal springs. The bag has a top, bottom sheet and pillow with no case, 1 blanket. It took 5 layers of padding to make it sleepable.All 3 of us left for the entire day and when we arrived to the room at 6:30 p.m. our used towels were still on the floor and trash cans were full. Fresh towels were delivered to our room from the common open area, not thru the hallway. This stay was not what I expected of Marriott Residence Inn at
