Residence Inn by Marriott Pasadena Arcadia

My wife and our two small dogs stayed at this Residence Inn when I was in town on business. I wanted to preface this that I've stayed at many Townplace Suites/Springhill Suites/Residence Inn's and am used to the extended-stay properties, and I mention that because I don't expect the type of service and amenities as a fancier property. The services at this Residence Inn got the job done. - The units are in outdoor townhouse style units as opposed to in one big building. - The room was clean, nothing broken. I used the stove and kitchen supplies to cook to keep my food costs lower. - I didn't opt in for housekeeping but I could always get supplies (e.g. toilet paper) with a call to the front desk. - I brought my small dogs and they have a grass area dogwalk-type path in the back of the unit

This location reminded me of a place I enjoyed in Pensacola, Florida. These are essentially one bedroom studios cluster together like mini townhouses with three to four units in each cluster.||Though costly, I did enjoy most features of this location, including the daily breakfast which was always well stocked no matter what time of the available hours I arrived.||The room was the largest I’ve stayed in while in California, with a open-floor design featuring a legitimate kitchen, two person dining table, very large restroom, and living room area with a couch facing the t.v. and a nice sized work desk.||There was a larger sliding glass door allowing plenty of light into the room, in addition to a one and a half foot wide long vertical window by the work desk.||Lighting was plentful.||I enj

This hotel would have received a much higher review, however the customer service and management here receive negative stars. Beware when booking directly with Marriott at the lower rate, your card on file won't go through and they will charge you the more expensive rate upon arrival. After trying to resolve the issue, the operations manager was cold, no signs of being empathetic towards to situation nor was apologetic, and honestly was borderline rude. Mind you this card used, was used for other reservations with no issue, AND was used upon check in, so I honestly have a feeling they do this often to scam users out of more money. The hotel itself is run down and needs updating both outside and inside and just felt old and run down. We were however VERY pleased with the breakfast selection

Check in was quick as we had reservations online. We checked in, got directions to our room. We were offered an option or up or downstairs. We got into the room. Some family went immediately to sleep. Some of us went to the pool. The hot tub and pool are centrally located. I think because of it being October, there were a lot of leaves and debris in the main pool. It appeared quite dirty. The pool closed at 9pm but the children were able to enjoy it all the same. Unfortunately there were no towels by the poolside or in the nearby bin. The only items we could find were rags or small hand towels. Because of that lack, we had to get our room towels for the pool. Quiet sleep. Good rest. Our shower needed more towels which were brought by housekeeping. Easy check out.

I’m a very picky and critical guest, and honestly, this is the first time I’m leaving such a glowing review. I loved absolutely everything about this hotel: the spotless and cozy studio-style room with a fireplace and breathtaking mountain view, the welcoming atmosphere, and the incredibly friendly staff. It was a truly relaxing stay that left me with only the best impressions.
