Residence Inn by Marriott Fishkill

Clean huge rooms. Cozy bed. Clean decent sized bathroom. Nice sunrise view of the mountains (depending on which side your room is facing, ours was easy facing) Lovely staff- gave us a little sweet gift bag for our anniversary and a great bag for our dog. Nice breakfast spread. All day coffee. Close to downtown.

We drove in while it was snowing. The hotel had people shoveling the snow and applying ice melt on the sidewalks. The next morning the sidewalks all around the hotel were clear. The hotel was clean, the staff was super friendly, the breakfast was good. Loved seeing the gingerbread houses that the staff made - they had a competition and guests could vote for their favorite house.

This trip was our first vacation with our 6 month old son. There were a few different things in the Beacon & Poughkeepsie area that we were interested in doing so the location was perfect. This hotel was a little more expensive compared to what we usually spend on a weekend trip, but we felt that staying in a bigger hotel room with a kitchenette was our best option with a baby. Plus the positive ratings made us feel like it would be worth it and it was! We were happy to have the extra amenities too: The bar, pool and laundry room all made our stay easier and more enjoyable. Overall our trip was great! The room was very clean and had everything we needed. We really liked the big lobby/lounge area. The staff was friendly and attentive. Really nice property. Clean, well kept. Only 7 years old. The Residence inn and Springhill are essentially one building, sharing a pool, lobby, etc. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Did have an issue with the room door not latching but the quickly fixed the issue and compensated us accordingly. Will be back next year!

Overall hotel was good. Rooms were clean, but breakfast was just ok (nothing too special). One thing to note is this hotel is massive and is literally right next to the highway—even though our room was on the first floor it was quite a distance from the door. Be careful if you have a dog that’s hesitant with loud noises (traffic) as there is no protection from the highway.
