Hyatt House Fishkill/Poughkeepsie

This is, without question, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was absolutely disgusting, and the bathroom clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned. For a hotel that carries the Hyatt name, the level of neglect and filth was shocking. The elevator was literally wrapped in plastic, which looked sketchy and unsafe. My daughter was so scared to even step inside it. Instead of feeling like a normal hotel environment, the whole place felt poorly maintained and unsettling. To make matters worse, the hallways smelled awful, like they hadn’t been aired out or cleaned in a long time. It made walking to and from the room extremely unpleasant. I’m honestly astonished this hotel has decent reviews and you really need to look at them better because they are buffed up. We stayed in June for a medical procedure, expecting this to be a Hyatt standard hotel, as I’ve been a Hyatt member for 10+ years now. This was seriously the worst hotel room I’ve had in my whole life. It was dirty, grimy, moldy, outdated, stinky, and just flat out disgusting. The bathroom had black mold and the toilet had water running all night as well. The pictures on the website are not at all accurate of the room I was given. Plus, I paid the price of the rooms that are pictured on the website and was given this garbage. It was so so gross. Even the hallway stunk. Save your money and do not stay at this hotel. The location does not feel safe at all, and the conditions inside are even worse. As soon as you walk through the hallways, you’re hit with a horrible smell that is honestly unbearable—like sewage. It’s disgusting and completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one carrying the Hyatt name. Between the unsafe-feeling area and the awful smell throughout the building, the entire experience was miserable. This place is poorly maintained and clearly not managed the way a hotel should be. Avoid this hotel and spend your money somewhere cleaner and safer.

The staff was so friendly. They made fresh popcorn and had cookies in the lobby and told my kids they would call them when they put it all out. They are renovating, and the rooms are beautiful but there is no place at all to put your clothes. The room was super clean. The temperature was the way I like it. But it would be nice to have a place to put clothes and a spot in the bathroom to put things. Like I didnt know extra toilet paper was in the closet. My kids enjoyed the pool and I the hot tub. But the temperature of the room the pool was in was cold. Cold air was blowing out the vents in the middle of winter. They have a nice breakfast. Plenty of seating. They have a bar. And some bar food. But it would of been nice to have a full service restaurant. Or just more options on the menu.

Was such a lovely few nights away. 4th floor was recently renovated so it was a lovely surprise. Reception team was lovely and also the bar man. Breakfast was great! Just wish the pool area was a little warmer!
