Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Summerville

We’ve stayed at this Marriott location for years because we have family nearby. It’s always felt like a mini apartment, a home away from home. Until this last visit. We paid over $260 for the room, plus parking at the hotel we were already staying in. For that kind of money, basic cleanliness and upkeep shouldn’t be a gamble. Three out of four washcloths in the bathroom were either dirty or stained with black and brown spots. The pull-out bed had sheets that were way too small, like twin sheets stretched for a queen. The towel bar by the sink was barely hanging on, the shower tray was loose, and when we stepped into the elevator we almost wiped out because the floor had just been mopped with no caution sign in sight. 6/10 service. 4/10 Housekeeping & maintenance. Nice enough for one overnight stay with kids. The queen sofa bed suite room was spacious but needs some work (pics). A light that didn’t work. Empty body wash container. Mold and a broken rack in the shower. Torn up carpet. Got the sense no one really cared. Free breakfast.

This week I visited the Charleston area where my son and ex were relocating.||Needing a place to stay, I reserved the Residence Inn in Summerville.||The hotel that was near the I 26 highway and was perfect for my needs which included four nights. It’s located about 25 minutes from downtown Charleston.||So much about Residence Inn’s are ideal and are just like a nicely furnished studio apartment.||All the staff at the hotel were kind and one of them provided me with a great suggestion for a path to take a long walk around the ever growing area.||I was also impressed with the complimentary breakfast with many items changing from day to day.||While each room has a full kitchen, there are plenty of restaurants behind the hotel to meet different food preferences.||All in all, I’ll happily stay

From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out our experience has been the best! The facility was very kept up!! The staff make you feel very valued! They were very knowledgeable regarding the area, restaurants, weather and directions. Whether you are asking them a question or just wanting to chat they were always there! I have been to plenty hotels with a “ breakfast buffet” but this one takes the lead, they have a large selection and no matter how many people are down there for breakfast they have the food kept up and fully stocked! The room was amazing! Very spacious and the bed was beyond comfortable!!! This hotel deserves more than 5 stars in my opinion!!

Never had these problems at a marriott, from the moment i walked in there were towels laying in the lobby. Entered the room and the bathroom wasn’t even cleaned. Someone took a massive crap in the toilet and the hand towels were laying in the sink. The lady at the front desk was helpful about the situation but still. Will Not return
