Must b honest, I wanted to go cheap and that is what I got. Failed to adhere to previous guest reviews. Where are the hangers, dish cloth, toilet paper, hole at the laundry lock plus don't work, room door does not self lock plus door is to high from carpet, not able to use a doorstop, security issue with doors not locking at the pool. It's cold. Heat inconsistent and continued draft from where? No bath sink water pressure. Better to use kitchen faucet. Hallway carpet not clean, appears unkept. Question: Where the heck is Marriott Corporation? Is there no quality oversight and control? Front staff pleasant for the most part. Poorly managed and few if any response from owners. We were in BR to attend LSU’s graduation. Hotel options were limited so we took a chance on the Residence Inn by Marriott Baton Rouge South even though the reviews suggested we do otherwise. ||This place is horrible! ||We arrived after midnight and Kevin(?) was wonderful. He made sure we had extra towels and bedding for the pullout so that we didn’t have to come back down. Once we learned that there weren’t any open restaurants nearby, Kevin offered us some goody bags to help with our hunger. ||The hotel was obviously built during the dinosaur ages. It’s old and worn. We had guest rooms on 3 and 4, and both hallways (maybe the carpet) have that wet dog/ musty smell. ||Now for the room… The room has “No Name” side of the highway motel vibes! I would not recommend staying at this hotel. When we arrived, there were old chicken wings left in the trash can, which made the room feel dirty right away. There was also a noticeable hole in the counter that had clearly not been repaired. The most concerning part was the condition of the beds — the mattresses had visible blood stains on them, which is completely unacceptable and unhygienic. Overall, the room was not clean or well-maintained, and I did not feel comfortable staying here.

Location is great. Read the reviews. This hotel has Management Issues & apparently they do Not care about customer service or cleanliness.Unfortunately, there have been many issues.Multiple fire alarms, Maintenance does Not exist, exterior looks terrible, minimal cleaning, tiny towels, no dishwasher soap or coffee, no baking pans nor bowls or utensils, breakfast is Worse than cheap hotel, NO NBC so No Superbowl/Olympics/the Voice, trash in yard, took 3 days to get do not disturb sign, front desk folks know Nothing nor do they care, outside doors do Not secure & slam, rooms left open overnight. Stayed 2 months for work. Not the worst place but its up there. Clean everything yourself. Go to wafflehouse for breakfast. Worst marriott ever!
