Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel

We stayed for Valentine’s weekend and had an amazing experience! Bill, the doorman, was incredibly kind and welcoming. He helped us with our luggage and even chauffeured us to our dinner reservation. He gave excellent recommendations for places to eat and shop, and it was clear he’s very knowledgeable about the area. Check-in was smooth and seamless, and the ladies at the front desk were so warm and accommodating. All of our needs were met, and our room was perfect—the bed was especially soft and comfortable! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful stay.

I stayed at this property from Friday through Sunday, and on Sunday morning I woke up with multiple bug bites all over my feet — around 6 or 7 bites on each foot. It did not occur to me at first that they might be bedbug bites until I researched it after checking out.|I emailed the hotel immediately Monday morning to alert them, not just for myself but so they could check the room for the safety of future guests. I received no response. When I finally called on Wednesday, the manager was friendly but suggested that I might have brought the bugs in myself and offered me 5,000 Marriott points “for the inconvenience.”|After 22 years of loyalty to the Marriott brand and over 1,800 lifetime nights as a Platinum/Titanium member, I have never experienced anything like this. Positive: The staff were friendly and helpful at the front desk. Negative: Very limited parking. Very loud event happening in the ballroom and extremely drunk people in the lobby along with the floor of the hallway to my room. There was a cleaning rag left on the top of the toilet.

Stayed again b4 departing....what else can I say about how professional, attention to detail this chain is. I will stay nowhere else but here. Chihquita front desk receptionist is warm and welcoming with that elite hotel charm that I so appreciate. Thank u so much Renaissance.
