La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Baton Rouge Denham Springs

Moving to Texas with 2 dogs and this was right off of I-12 and allowed dogs for a very reasonable price - $25 fee for the dogs and room under $100. We were surprised how nice the hotel and rooms were. Despite our room being on the 1st floor and next to an elevator the room was very quiet and had what we needed, refrigerator but no freezer. Checking in and checking out, staff was anything but helpful, friendly or welcoming so I took off a star. Made me feel like I was bothering them and I hate that feeling. Like there wasn't a line or other people, just me and I was friendly so I don't understandthe issue. Otherwise really nice hotel, nice and clean room, comfortable beds and pillows for under $100 and right off the interstate. I'd definitely stay again.

The property is great. Shower water pressure is poor. Customer service is nonexistent. At check in around 330, the 2 ladies at the counter were having a conversation. Took em a while to at least pause and acknowledge me. After acknowledgement, they resumed their conversation, then eventually checked me in. Upon 8am checkout, the lady at the counter didn't even look up from her phone nor did she say anything. I guess its a good thing the little bucket is there at the counter to drop room keys in! Smh

This place isn’t fancy but most of the people who work here are top notch. The manager takes her job seriously and even showed up on her night off and before a Christmas party to help resolve an elevator issue. The cleaners are thorough and helpful. I saw them wiping down surfaces in the rooms and mopping. The front desk is helpful although I did see some difficulties with assisting non-English speakers. I would suggest that the front desk people utilize translation apps on phones. No one expects everyone to know every language so those apps really come in handy. I didn’t take photos. The decor hasn’t changed in a while. It’s still the purple accent wall with dark wood furniture and white and black bedding. There isn’t much to walk to in the area aside from the gas station across the stree

Positive: The hotel staff are wonderful to us each and every year. We have a Christmas party every year around the same time in December and the staff is amazing. Negative: Other guest not respecting others in the middle of the night/early morning hours sleeping.

We choose this spot due to price and the 4 star rating. It did not disappoint. Good location. Very clean. Mediocre breakfast BUT it was complimentary. I’m traveling with my wife but if I find myself in the area again, I would certainly stay here. Update! I forgot to add that it is pet friendly and very welcoming!
