Relax Inn

Room was fine, two beds, only used one, it was comfortable, stayed 3 nights due to a lot of company at my house and my room at home was needed by my grandchildren. TV, refrigerator, microwave, good internet. I like parking by the door. In case of fire you don't end up in a smoky burning hallway. Well lighted parking lot, inexpensive. If you need breakfast just turn left (east) out of the lot and run down to the Exxon. This is an old motel but in good shape. If you are looking for a luxury spa this ain't it but is a good place to rest up and be close to the historic district.

It's quiet and the ladies do a fine job cleaning my room everyday ,but there are no coke machines and no ice but the rooms are much cheaper than anyone else !

We spent several days at the River View Inn during Hurricane Gustav. Even though the rooms are dated, they are quite LARGE (much bigger than is typical with more modern hotels). This was exactly what we needed because we evacuated with 5 cats (and had to set up all their individual, collapsible cages in the room). The rooms were so reasonable that we decided to rent two - one for the cats & one for the people. There was a refundable pet deposit involved, but we “passed inspection” and got our deposit back. (Hint: We had brought along a small Shark vacuum cleaner & kept up with the cats.) The small frig & microwave in each room were nice to have, as was the free breakfast and wireless Internet. Don't judge a book by its cover. I rented three rooms for my crew for a week. The rooms are not much to look at from the outside, but are large, well furnished and most important they are clean! The shower heads are the best! They loaned us a BBQ pit, they furnish you anything you need and work their tails off to make you feel comfortable. The rooms have Fridge Microwave and coffeemaker and a large bathroom area too. Its quiet and the price is right. Nothin fancy but when on the road, clean safe and comfy is all that matters! I'll be back!

Iwas reading the other reviews and can't believe this is the same motel. We experience none of these problems. Our room was spacious, quiet, and clean. The back door opened right out to the river area where you could sit in the cool evening. I was disappointed they no longer served the free breakfast as advertised, the woman at the desk said the owner had discontinued it. This mothel is located less than a mile from the historic district, well away from traffic noise of the Interstate.
