Red Roof PLUS+ Tempe - Phoenix Airport

I booked a room and then canceled it two days later, three weeks before our arrival date. Family matters out of my control necessitated a delay in our trip. I am fully aware that I booked through a site which doesn’t offer free cancellation. But since I couldn’t help canceling, I requested a free or discounted cancellation. I was denied. Again, I understand that free cancellation was not included. What was included was the option to request it, which they denied. So I’m giving one star because if it were me, and it was three weeks before our arrival date, I would have at least offered a discounted cancellation. Companies need to make money but I’d rather spend my money with a company that understands things happen and is willing to work with that.

Front desk lady was rude, I’m not sure if she was meaning to be but just in the few minutes it took to check in I was ready to cancel my reservation and go somewhere else. No shuttle, and description has been updated bc i have screenshots where it said basically cash was best, yet she very rudely informed me with a scoff that they had been cash free for 4 years. The rest of the staff were great. The room had no microwave or fridge which I thought was pretty standard for a double bed room these days. Pool was small and not well lit at night.

Positive: The manager was great. When I called to ask if the pool was heated she said yes to 94 degrees. That's why I chose to stay there. Staff was also good unlocking the pool for us every morning. The pool was great exercise about 20 laps each morning. Negative: Pool temp dropped each morning, yes it's 94 degrees on Wed-fri then I think to save money you drop the temp to save electricity/gas. If you say it's 94 degrees keep it at that. Be honest. Many people with dogs make it hard for staff to keep rooms clean

Centrally located which makes moving around easy. The staff is friendly, helpful, and speedy - easily would refer this hotel to anyone I know. The rooms are clean and the prices are reasonable. Thank you !! Cannot express enough how much the staffing here exceeded expectations in every way possible... 😀

I stayed the evening for an earlybird flight and was totally satisfied. From check-in until the time I left, all was good. The front desk attendant; I didn't get her name, greeted me with humor and professionalism and even gave me some good information on other services the hotel provided. My room was a two double bed. Standard, but clean, and the mattress was comfortable and allowed me to sleep until I received my wake up call. Overall, for the price, location, service and convenience to the airport, I'll be back and recommend this Red Roof Inn+ to anybody.
