Red Roof Inn Virginia Beach

I recently stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Virginia Beach and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The outside temperature was 26 degrees, but with the wind it felt like 23. Inside my room, it felt even colder — like an icebox. I was so uncomfortable that I could not get warm enough to sleep. The heater in my room was not working properly. The turning handle on the heating unit was broken off, making it impossible to adjust or control the heat. This was clearly a visible maintenance issue. When I contacted the front desk, I was offered additional blankets — the same thin blankets already on the bed. I was not offered another room with working heat, nor was I offered any type of discount or accommodation despite the freezing conditions. Providing a room without functioning heat

Rusty appeal.. we paid extra for the "better" room. I will say it was quieter than I expected.. could hear the water run in the next room.. couldn't get the heater to work. Confetti glitter on floor by the desk.. sheets are as thin as the toilet paper.. & they must have bought that from the john Wayne foundation because its rough & tough & dont..(well if you know...) someone gracefully left a bandaid over the peephole on the door though. And I'm not sure if that's paint or dried blood but I'm not trying to touch it to find out.. hoping paint. Sheets were clean. Room didn't smell. Didn't see any bugs. And a really cool light for the vanity. Tv worked. The USB ports on the lights didn't work bring a block to plug in.. Room was $104..

The smell of mould in the room made it impossible to breathe. It was dirty and unpleasant and I wish I had read the reviews on tripadvisor. Booking wrote in the description „pleasant” I think they missed the prefix „un”.

Positive: "" Negative: Room was completely filthy. Stains all on the bed sheets, mattress covers and pillow cases. The floors were so dirty we had to create a walking path to manage. On top of all that we had to change our own sheets and return the dirty ones

Toilet in bathroom was clogged and water leaking from floor into the next room. When asked to change rooms I was told I would have to pay the difference to keep a room with a microwave and fridge. When I refused to pay the girl at the front desk had someone plug and snake the toilet. When that didn’t work she then gave me a room with a fridge and microwave but the heat doesn’t work. Had the heat on high for over an hour and the room was still freezing. Only thing good about this hotel is the location. They don’t try to accommodate you for any reason at all. They just want your money.
