Red Roof Inn Chapel Hill - UNC

This hotel is located in a very convenient area , Close to UNC Chapel Hill, and right off the Hwy. The folks who own/manage it go out of their way to accommodate anything you need. For example the microwave in my room wasnt working properly and they replaced it immediately. The room is clean with a very comfortabe bed. Staff are all very friendly. I am a dental patient at UNC, which is right down the road. I have stayed here 5 times so far. It is budget friendly and i wouldnt consider staying anywhere else...Oh, and there are many excellent food options/ restaurants near by.

We stayed here for just over two weeks during a major life transition, and this Red Roof Inn gave us something we really needed: peace, safety, and rest. The rate was very affordable, the rooms were surprisingly clean, and the hotel itself was quiet — we slept well here for the first time in a long while. The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, especially the night staff member who helped us check in and even let us choose between two rooms. I wish I’d gotten his name because that care mattered. It was also very clear that we weren’t the only people staying long-term, which made the environment feel human and non-judgmental. As a family with a cat, we felt accepted and comfortable. Well located with easy access to I-40, Chapel Hill, and Durham (and places nearby to dine). Staff are welcoming and kind. I stay here a couple of times a year and appreciate that the grounds and rooms are well kept. Decent value for the money.

Checking in was like prison movies, small window, small room before the “lobby”, they were shy for some reason and spoke little English (as a guest we should deserve privacy for our safety) and there were people around that were staring at us while we were trying to give the reception our reservation through that little window they had. He said our name and room number out loud (he didn't scream) for everyone there to hear (i was wondering why they didn’t yell our card info, because might as well). We received the room keys and went to the room. Walking in, it looked alright until we smelled the mildew, we tried to turn on the AC and noticed the loose wires. After getting my phone and documenting everything, the wires were indeed live. They definitely hurt and i have the burn marks on my t
