Red Roof Inn Asheville - Biltmore West

DO NOT STAY HERE. The overall rating this motel currently has is deceiving. We had to find a last minute place to stay late on a Saturday night, and the Red Roof was cheap with good enough looking reviews. Horrible mistake. The person working at the front desk was nice enough, but there was nothing she could have done to make us feel safe enough to stay in any room. I won’t make assumptions about the other guests of this place, but there were lots of people milling around late at night. We walked into our room, and it smelled strongly of mildew and cleaning supplies. Immediately lock the door, but there was a large gap in the doorframe (which goes directly outside). The towels were stained. The dresser drawers were off their hinges and broken. There appeared to be mold in the bathroom. We

Avoid this DUMP!!!! The WORST motel I have ever stayed in and I am a frequent traveler. Homeless druggies hanging around the property and the stairwell elevator area. We were afraid to leave our room with so many roaming around on the property. Very unsafe environment and dirty and disgusting parking lot and grounds. Behind the motel is a homeless camps but they come hang out here. This place needs to be shut down. I can't believe it would pass any.kind of inspection.

I stay here a lot (pets stay free) and recommend it. Microwaves & mini-fridges in all the rooms, & you can walk to Cracker Barrel and a couple gas station convenient markets from here. Other shops and restaurants are a short drive and some are within reasonable walking distance. It's pretty clean, and everyone that works here is friendly and helpful. It's generally pretty quiet, too. It's kind of hard to find. I missed it the first time. There are lots of homeless folks around (you can see their campsites from the parking lot) and they're often at the gazebo area, but I have never had any issues with any of them.

Positive: Good ice machine. Negative: People smoking in non smoking areas. No barh towels in room. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Tv remote did not work. Smoke detector was missing from wall.

Both rooms and people are awesome here. Rooms were clean spacious. Staff were understanding. They provided with everything we needed, when needed upon request. But the location is kinda shady and not quiet. Maybe good for a night's stay.
