Red Mountain Motel & RV Park

I stayed on the new RV park side of the property so I cannot comment on rooms. The park was clean, the restroom building was cleaned to a high standard every day. I did not use the Wi-Fi. The property is conveniently located across the street from the grocery, a few doors down from the hardware store, and a five minute walk to the center of town. The new RV park section is all gravel. Not my favorite, but in an arid climate, perfectly reasonable. A camping carpet helped to make the situation much better. There are two large fields on either side of the new section where you can exercise your pets. You’re also close to the river if you want to go wading, or take your dog for a swim. Jim & Amy Lokey are the owners of this excellent place to stay! The motel rooms are old but updated and Very Clean! The cabins are great also, we have been going here for years and have stayed in both but our favorite is the motel, when we call we don’t even have to tell them which room we want, they get to know their customers and automatically know. I would recommend this business to anyone!

Best place to stay in Silverton. Fantastic views and owners are very personable and hospitable. This isn’t a 5 star, opulent hotel with fake luxury. It’s not Vegas. But if you’re in Silverton, CO then that’s not what you should be looking for! It’s quiet and peaceful. You’re right on the edge of town, which offers beautiful scenic views but still within walking distance of everything Silverton has to offer.

Rooms in Silverton were few and far between when we arrived. Without looking at the property, I called and found an available room for $148, which seemed reasonable after staying in Telluride! We ended up in what was sort of a duplex, concrete block building. There were small log cabins that looked far more inviting.|I’ll start with the positives: We found the room to be very clean & it was remarkably quiet, considering how busy the place was. There was a full kitchen. The beds were firm. The location is close to the center of town. The TV had plenty of channels. There were nice homey touches to the decor. There were plenty of chairs for seating outside and in. Amenities were there: tissues, coffee, soap, shampoo, etc. Housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient.|Negatives:

We have stayed at this RV park for several years and have always been happy with their service. Recently I was diagnosed with cancer & starting chemotherapy. So we are unable to make the trip this year. When we called to cancel our reservation we were informed that they would charge us for two days. I wonder how they would feel if they were in our shoes? It's bad being sick with extra expenses now another. Shame on you Red Mountain an you know who you are.
