Eureka Campground

Cool spot with a “Way out in the Mountains” vibe. We showed up after hours with no reservations with plans to take a van up Cinnamon Pass but decided against it. The after hours honor system was a trip saver.

This is a rustic campground or RV park. There are 10 sites with electricity, the rest do not have electric. There are outhouses which are clean and well cared for. The staff is only there for a few hours a day. There are No services. However, the location is high in the mountains and the views are extraordinary. The road from Silverton is a well maintained dirt road where we could easily drive our pickup and 27' RV. If you don't mind rustic I recommend this campground. The location is unreal.

An excellent camping experience in a stunning location. You get to camp with a waterfall on one side, a river on the other, with 360 mountain views. The people who run the campground are incredibly friendly and prioritize that everyone has a great experience.

We had such great time and the views from the campground were amazing! Camp hosts were very friendly. This was an old town where old buildings used to be. There was a lot of broken glass and nails at the campsites and down by the river. These nails go all the way back to the late 1800s! A magnetic roller would be good to have on hand to roll over your campsite before parking and setting up. This won't stop us from going back, we loved the area.

If you’re looking for quick access to the mountains, Eureka Campground puts you just below Animas Forks. The service and staff are wonderful and kind. Really helpful and cheerful. The camping is simple and you’ll need to basically be self reliant. They do have a cabin, electric hookups and a pit toilet. So don’t fuss, just go ride, drive, or hike!
