Red Mountain Campground

Very peaceful campsite with trails that you can bike or ATV ride outside the camp. The trails are pretty steep so be prepared for that if your biking 😉 Note that it’s about 7 miles of uphill dirt road to get here, a bit bumpy but most vehicles could handle it. There’s a bathroom but no running water so bring your own. Sunrise and sunset views are great. Many people come here to hunt it seems. There are a few picnic tables too.

My friends and I made it up to this site in a Toyota Corolla. It wasn't easy and the pothole ridden dirt road definitely scraped the bottom of the car a couple times, but it was absolutely doable! The site is gorgeous, just be wary of some absurdly strong winds. Our tent's fly nearly blew off despite being secured, but nothing a quick 1am fix couldn't solve.

Red Mountain is a beautiful camp ground. We were able to tow a 24ft toy hauler RV up to the camp ground. I wouldn't say I'd recommend it. But, if you have a good truck with some good tires it can be done. Just know your capabilities cause it is a rough hike up. Once you get up there it's very beautiful and peaceful. We were there for two nights and only one other couple was there too. Best off all you can just ride out of camp to tons of trails to ride with a great variety of difficulties.

Really nice spot to stay if you aren't scared of skinny, steep roads. The top has fire rings, bathrooms, and trash bins. Great views
