Raton's Peak Inn

Last minute booking while driving. Wanted cheap and clean. $100 and sketchy on clean. Bathroom and shower were clean but carpet & floorboards grossed me out. Shower faucet was broken but usable, Hole in ceiling in bathroom and wall. Towels were tiny & 'thread bare'- rags. Beds were very soft, which I liked but my partner did not. Pillows were terrible; one had a hole. Not sure if the smoke detector could work, part of it was in a drawer. The lady who checked us in was very pleasant. It looked full, so I'm going to assume our room was the last and normally not used. Beware of room 114.

This was a cozy place for a quick overnight stay on our way home. It is a motel, so 1 level that opens to the parking lot but doors locked & had a chain. Smelled clean & fresh. Checked in around 11:45pm & lady was smiling & courteous! Beds were soft, clean & very comfortable (squishy according to my stepdaughter). I prefer a little firmer, but all in all, it's very good for $80 taxes & all for a quick 7-hour sleep. Bathrooms are older & our bathtub faucet leaked some, but for a quick place to sleep & COLD A/C, it was great for us!

Mike was super awesome! We had a great time staying here. Also loved how old school some of the stuff was! Cute lamps and pink bathroom decor! For a very low price for a night, was super easy to get checked in.

I’d give zero or negative stars if possible. Had to wake the overnight person up, who couldn’t find my reservation then seemed irritated I was there. At 4am. Room stank. Bugs flying around when lights turned on. Hair on pillow. Everything old, and a lot broken. Drain clogged. Almost lost ring in sink (no cover). Called the front desk AT LEAST 15 times for a late checkout (posted 10am), with ZERO response. Literally no one answered. I get being a budget motel & you get what you pay for but this was horrible. This place should have been condemned. The “owners” obviously don’t care about hospitality or taking care of their guests. Went across the street to another hotel for the duration of my stay. Another customer lost due to extremely poor service. Couldn’t have been more disappointed. Loc
