Non-smoking isn’t enforced. Third floor reeked of marijuana. I’m not a killjoy, but people don’t seem to have respect for others. Empire Boulevard is very busy and very loud. You’re unlikely to get good sleep here. The only real benefit is being close to transit and a chipotle right outside.
Positive: Great bed and pillows, mini fridge, big room with two AC/heating units. Negative: There was not tv remote or lights next to the bed, you had to use the overhead light, the switch for which was by the front door. The floor on my room felt dirty under foot. The marble throughout the hotel made sound carry into my room.
I've never slept worse at a hotel than this place. We woke up every few hours each night because of how LOUD it was - there is absolutely no soundproofing, so we could hear conversations in the lobby perfectly clear, the hallways and rooms next door, every time the elevator was used, construction early in the morning...not to mention several guests yelling at management for issues they were having as well!||Management was very uncaring and lied to us when we asked to switch to a room that wasn't right next to the lobby. They said there were no more rooms even though we could clearly see there were more available online. If we could get a refund, we would have left. ||Also, the floors were covered in hair and spiderwebs when we first arrived, and both queen beds had hair on the sheets and b
Not a bad hotel. It was either recently renovated or built, so there isn’t too much wear/tear on the facilities. Decent amount of space and a 5 min walk from the Subway. The hotel is quite basic, so you get what you expect. It could be cheaper for what it is. There isn’t much noise cancellation and you can hear noise from the hallways.
REVIEWS ARE CORRECT! I wish I looked at the review before booking this, because they are so on point. (And note: I used to live in NYC so know that it's got it's own vibe...but this place was beyond that) CONS: - Location is 10-15 min walk from any subway station and close by is either fast food or car shops. Outside is loud at all hours with cars, people, trucks, etc. There's no carpet anywhere, so you can hear people walking, talking, doors closing, and the loud elevator announcements at all times. I thought people were right outside my door, but actually were far down the hall. If you don't have earplugs, no way you're sleeping. - Front desk is behind thick bulletproof glass, but there's zero security for guests like tapping room key to get in building or up elevator, so anyone could
