Quality Inn & Suites Montrose - Black Canyon Area

The only thing going for the hotel is cleanliness. Almost no decor in the lobby , a cold atmosphere, very dated. And unfortunately the pool area was basically unusable. They had a water pump running all day, was told it always runs and they can not shut it off or close the door it’s behind. Very uncomfortable. But clean. Also we reserved a king bed with a mountain view. No such view is visible. All you can see from the hotel was a line of 50 foot trees and the back of the Home Depot. Quiet and clean. Yet almost no amenities, and a bit of false advertising in my opinion. Would we stay again? Yes if nothing else was available for the same price.

When we first arrived, the man at the front was really nice. He was very quick to help us get into our room. We went to shower after our trip and two of the three towels had what looked like blood and stains on them, without hesitation they replaced and apologized for the inconvenience. In the morning, the breakfast was well spread and had a lot of options. I loved instead of old reheated waffles, they had a waffle maker readily available. I didn’t use the pool or fitness center, but seen plenty of guests over the few days in there, that was a nice accommodation even though we didn’t use it. TV was a bit small and on the low dresser, which oddly had only two drawers? but it had plenty of channels!! Between visiting National Parks and spending two weeks in Colorado and Utah, we stayed at this Quality Inn and Suites in Montrose, CO. About the only thing it has going for it is that it is smack in the middle of everything in Montrose.||When we arrived, we went up to our room and thought it was a nice size. But that was about it. First we tried to log into WIFI, which didn't work on any devices. I went downstairs to the front desk. They said the problem was with Choice Hotels and they gave me a phone number to call. It took 20 minutes, speaking to someone whose first language was not English to finally get connected. Then we started looking around. The computer chair at the desk was broken. When I entered the hotel I was not greeted. I spoke first saying I had a reservation. He said " Driver license and credit card". Then he handed me my keycard and said "The wifi password is your name and room number". That's all he said to me (rather rudely). I went to my room which smelled like a former smokers room. I have asthma so it was an unpleasant night. Also, the control knob on the AC/Heat unit did not work well. When I left the next morning the person behind the desk took my keys, period. Usually, I am asked how my stay was. This was a horrible place to stay and I will never see another Quality Inn.

Quality Inn and Suites is amazing. Sakib, helped us after dealing with a debacle with Best Western and was absolutely phenomenal. His customer service skills are spectacular. The room was wonderful. We were in a dog friendly room with the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in while traveling. Their breakfast was on point in the morning. They had a lot to choose from. We will come back to Quality Inn and Suites when in Montrose for business. Quality Inn and Suites is doing it right. This is by far one of the best experiences we have had while traveling. 20 out of 20 stars!!! Best place ever!!!
