Quality Inn Rockdale

1) Front Entrance Heavy glass doors were broken. You had to manually pull them apart to open. Evidently they have been broken for some time. 2) It was musty smelling when you walk in and air very stale. 3) Only 1 luggage cart and it was in terrible shape. I didn’t think it would last with carrying my luggage. 4) Room Very Very hot. I went to turn air on high. It wouldn’t stay on high. Some kind of bad connection. 5) Room smelled like smoke and very musty. 6) Paint job on door inside room was very half done. It looked like a child did it. 7) The Biggest thing was no cell service. I didn’t feel good about staying there anyway but when I realized I had no cell service in my room. My husband told me I could not stay. So I rolled everything back out to truck and lef

The cleanest and finest room we've stayed in at Rockdale since we've been going south for the winter. Location was great. Service was wonderful. Convenient for all the local restaurants. Price was exceptional.

Positive: Staff members was very nice Negative: Rooms needed to be updated. Mold in the bathroom area, walls are very thin, hotel stayed no smoking but I smell cigarette and hotel employee smoking nightly…

Totally uncalled for! This unpublished $250 fine for bringing a dog in the hotel room should be stated as one of the number one rules before you ever get to the reservations. This policy is posted on the desk on a typed note. I made the reservation the day before and nothing was said and it is in my profile that I have a dog. That should have flagged the account and told me immediately that dogs were zero tolerance at this hotel. I got to the hotel and was told that I had to pay $250 fine if I brought my dog into the room. Nowhere does it state on the website or on Choice app does it tell me that my dog cannot come into the room. My dog spent the night in the car. Completely uncalled for!!! We have stayed here several times in the last couple years. Professional /friendly /helpful front desk personnel, clean & comfortable rooms, Very Safe place to stay. BUT, the owner really needs to fix the front double automated door. You shouldn’t have to pry them open and pull back to shut. It’s been like that for 2 months at least. My only quibble with Quality Inn in Rockdale, TX. Thanks for listening. Otherwise it would have been 10.
