Quality Inn near MCAS Cherry Point

This is the absolute WORST establishment we have ever booked at. I opened an account under my business, and secure rooms for my husband on the road. We share the same last name and I use his card to secure the reservation. My husband drives 11 hours a day and looks forward to getting to a hotel to rest. That is the complete opposite of this situation. The front desk employee I spoke with (who claimed to be the manager) refused to allow my husband to check into the room since my name was on the booking. Mind you, I’m on the other side of the country. I begged, pleaded, ‘please, I booked a non-cancellable room for him, please what can I do to allow him to check-, I can send a picture of my ID, a form, you name it- it’s under his credit card which he will present at check-in’. Upon our check in, the hotel was not like the pictures. There were no exterior lights on and it was very dark. When we checked in, the hotel had a very bad odor. When we went to our room, the room had a very dirty, pungent odor. While we were inspecting the room, we found numerous stains on the sheets, blankets, and mattress cover. The bathroom was dirty and stains in the toilet/bathtub. When I brought these concerns to the staff, they became very defensive and argumentative. I stated that we did not feel comfortable staying after that interaction and would like a refund, to which the staff stated they would not refund any of my money. We stay here whenever we visit our son on base. This was our 4th stay, now, and we have been pleased each and every time. Staff are polite, rooms and grounds are clean and orderly. Just a nice place to relax after our visits.

I made a mistake when I made this reservation. I originally planned to stay at a nearby hotel. I was viewing a few hotels in the area on my computer and wasn't paying attention when I made the reservation and paid for a couple of nights' stay here. I just realized I made a mistake on our way there when my GPS took me to this hotel. And since the reservation was made, I just kept it and checked in. While the receptionist is helpful, the hotel is pretty old. There's mold on the shower tub. I did not take another shower, because the tub seemed about to fall off. The ceiling looks, it was just painted, but you can see the gaps, and it just looks tacky. But I can live with that. The worst part for us is when we got back inside. The shower/tub had mild and was not clean. The smoke detector was missing saftey violations. The tv didnt work. They wanted to move us to another room. I was too tired to move my stuff to another room. I traveled 2 1/2 hours set up for my aunts 95th birthday party for 2 of those hours. I stay here often when I visit. Little upset about this visit
