Quality Inn Lone Pine near Mount Whitney

Convenient location near the Alabama Hills. Waking up to a fabulous view is a good start to your day. If you don't wake up to construction noise, grinding, hammering above you. When we booked the room, the website mentioned nothing about renovations on the top floor during our stay. Neither did the front desk employee when we checked in at 7:00 pm. But when we woke up, we surely found out! The grinding and hammering was noisy! When we went upstairs to see what was happening, the kind construction worker said that they have been renovating for "a while now" and will be continuing for a while. He wondered why the hotel did not notify us in advance. That was my question, too! When we questioned the front desk employee on duty in the morning, she said that we could not receive a disc

The room was well appointed and comfortable - nice bedding (excellent variety of pillows), clean, fluffy towels. The thermostat/heating unit was easy to adjust/control for our comfort. Comfort and complete room darkness is particularly important for a good night's sleep. I would say the breakfast needs a little improvement - adjust the yogurt flavors so there are some geared towards adults as they are kids (vanilla, plain). The cooked eggs were rubbery, but do keep the hard boiled ones!

A nice hotel located about two miles south of Lone Pine (right off highway 395). Spacious and comfortable room; free parking; breakfast was included (eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, coffee, juice). Driving to the entrance of Death Valley National Park takes around 45 mins.

Unbeknownst to us, our room was directly adjacent to minors. In fact the entire floor was reserved for a high-school group, except our two rooms. We received no buffer and no notification about this. Of course, there were noise issues from midnight until the teens finally slept close to 1 am. Sadly no one trained the night shift and when asked about contacting the chaperones, the response was "that is not how it works" and instead there only "solution" was for them to call the offending high-school students. What a joke! For my lack of sleep, I received a $15 credit.

Nice, clean hotel at an affordable price. I booked this hotel last minute during a road trip from LA to Las Vegas via the scenic route. Unfortunately, we arrived at night and didn't realize what an amazing area we had accidentally stumbled upon. We were on a timeline, so did not get a chance to explore the area. Our room faced the back of the hotel so my view was of a field. I was not expecting to look out the window and see hundreds of rabbits! The bunnies were hilarious running and chasing each other. The following morning I was shocked to walk out the front of the hotel and see amazing snow capped mountains. I will definitely be back to the area. That being said, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area.
