Quality Inn Asheville Downtown Tunnel Rd

Our stay (Dec 13–14, 2025) was unacceptable from start to finish. We booked two rooms for four adults and an infant, paying around $250, and the conditions were neither safe nor clean. At approximately 11:30 PM, a false fire alarm was pulled, waking our sleeping baby. There was no fire, no explanation, and no follow-up from staff. Later that night, between 1:00–2:00 AM, marijuana was smoked directly outside our room, and the smell entered and lingered inside. This created an unsafe and inappropriate environment—especially for a family traveling with a baby. The cleanliness of the second room was appalling. The toilet had visible urine stains and hair in and on the seat, the bathtub had hair in the drain and around the shower curtain, and one of the queen beds had a yellow stain on the shee

The hotel was fine. Some features of the room need to be updated such as the sink because the tile was broken and it was patched with tape. The shower curtain was a bit dirty/moldy. One of the sheet covers was a bit dirty, perhaps stained. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was basic. Cereals, juice, coffee, milk, waffles, bagels, yogurt, muffins, fruit. For the price is okay but could be better.

Positive: The staff was really friendly and I feel that the management of the hotel is doing a great job. Negative: I felt the pillows/bed wasn't as comfortable as it could be. In my opinion, that could be a preference thing, but the pillows lacked support. Other than that, I don't have any major issues and I would recommend.

Great service by front desk staff.. rooms are very nicely cleaned and well stocked with towels & etc. Location is great for easy travel to downtown and nearby highways. Breakfast was nice as well. Would definitely stay here again.

The non-smoking room I rented was top notch on cleanliness--good job housekeepers, & the room had zero trace of cigarette smell carpet burns etc, which sometimes doesn't occur in non-smoking rooms. The breakfast--no eggs or meat--was a bonus as well, & the prices are very competitive compared to other motels or inns of this size & nature. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the tiny bathroom...lol! So small that I could not physically sit on the toilet or get into the shower while the bathroom door was open. Thank you for the hospitality!
