Powell House Bed & Breakfast

My wife and I had a great time at the Powell House. If you're looking for more of the traditional accommodations from a bed & breakfast, this is definitely a great place to check out. The Powell House was the first bed & breakfast in Lexington. The house is beautifully decorated with old pictures and trinkets which makes you feel at home. Although the look & feel takes you back in time, the service and ammenities are very much modern and first-class. Wifi is available in each room and Nancy serves a delicious breakfast. It must be noted that Nancy has 3 very friendly cats that roam the house, but there isn't a trace of cat hair anywhere. The king-size bed we slept in was comfortable and we enjoyed a very relaxing night. I highly recommend the Powell House to anyone staying in the Lexington

We had a very special room with a claw foot tub - perfect for those long soaks after a day at Lake Huron, which is basically across the street. The rooms are done in wonderful fabrics, lace and colors with that classic feel of times past, except and I must say we did like this feature, a small television in all the bedrooms for the guests enjoyment. The proprietor, Nancy, is a whiz in the kitchen, delicious, hot breakfast in a beautifully decorated dining room overlooking her incredible gardens. The property is absolutely stunning. Must take a stroll. Plenty to read, she encourages piano playing if you desire - lovely setting, lovely lady; - in fact I went back by myself without the husband for 2 nights midweek and was thoroughly rejuvinated! The owners are amazing! Beautiful home and the grounds are stunning. Very close to town, but you still feel like you are up North.

Powell House has had us coming every yr for 10 yrs. Nancy is the best. We love coming.

Our short weekend visit wasn't long enough. This place is so darn charming I wish I had more time. Can't wait for my next trip back.
