Portneuf Bend Campground

Dear Campground Team, We had such a great time camping this weekend with my sister! One of the best parts of our trip was meeting the awesome camp hosts, Mark and Brandi. They are truly amazing at their jobs! Even when they had to deal with some not-so-nice campers, they stayed calm, kind, and super professional. It was really cool to see how patient and polite they were. They also helped us out when we had a small problem and made sure everything was okay. They were always friendly and ready to lend a hand. The bathrooms were super clean, which made the trip even more comfortable! I just had the most incredible camping experience at a beautiful, family-owned RV park nestled in the stunning Lava Hot Springs Valley. The grounds are lush and well-maintained, winding along a picturesque river that’s perfect for floating, swimming, or kayaking. The camp hosts were incredibly warm, helpful, and always ready to cater to every request, making us feel right at home. To my delight, a train passed several times throughout the day—such a nostalgic touch for me. The bathrooms were immaculate, the freshwater was clean and refreshing, and the peaceful, quiet setting was an ideal escape, especially during the busy Fourth of July holiday. Such a beautiful place. The train runs through every once in a while, but you get used to it. I quite enjoyed them myself. The bathrooms are basic, no flushing toilets or running water in them but they are kept very clean. If you don't bring your own tube's to go down the river, you can rent them here at the campground along with fire wood, and ice.

Very pretty campground on the river and less than a mile from downtown hot springs. Campground has it's own lazy river and rents tubes for less than downtown prices. Owner-partners are hands on and just good people. 👍🏼 Definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved staying here! The camp hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. Our power plug wasn’t long enough and we were having trouble positioning our trailer so it would reach. The camp host came by and offered a loaner extension cord and it completely saved us! We stayed just off the river in site #35 and were able to walk up the road and float the river, which was fun! It’s just a short drive to the hot springs and water park as well. The only downsides- picnic areas have little to no privacy. You’ll be picnicking within 10 feet of your neighbors. Spots are narrow and don’t have room for oversized trailers. Also, there were kids riding noisy go carts around the campground all day. We have kids too, and they love to ride their bikes but the gas go carts with sirens were obnoxiou
