Downtown Abbey

Such a cute house and a great spot for a weekend stay! We loved all the little touches—having makeup wipes and makeup towels in the bathrooms was such a thoughtful detail. The woodwork is beautiful, the stained glass windows are gorgeous, and the old pictures of Lava are amazing. The house has so much character. The kitchen was a big win: love the stove, love the coffee bar, and the dining table comfortably fit all 9 of us, which was perfect. The beds are super comfy too. The game setup was a HUGE hit—old-style Pac-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Terminator T2 arcade games, plus a Switch. And the hot tub was an awesome bonus—perfect for relaxing after a long day. Wow! That's all I can say about this incredible home. From the PERFECT location (walking distance to all attractions in town), ample parking, quiet street... our stay couldn't have been better. The kitchen is incredible, with a commercial-grade range and oven, and stocked full of everything we would need. The covered porches allowed for comfortable outside time. The hot tub and the massive backyard were just the cherry on top! The immaculate attention to detail shows the love the owners have for this home. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun getaway.

Downtown Abbey is an amazing, comfortable and inviting home! We have brought friends and family from all over the country to Lava and we always stay at Downtown Abbey. Sometimes it's just my wife and I and sometimes it's a large group. It's location to all the main attractions in Lava Hot Springs is awesome. You can feel like you are in the thick of excitement or hide up inside and feel quietly at home. It is always clean and ready for our stay. The kitchen is over the top for a home kitchen. The bedrooms are comfortable and provide a relaxing room to sleep, yet most are big enough for kids to play and have their own space. One downstairs bedroom has a door on two walls. This house had so much charm! The hot tub was very nice in the chilly winter weather and BIG BONUS.....there was a TV in every room! Such a fun place for the family with plenty of space. Right in down town so you can enjoy all the cute shops and restaurants lava has to offer. I would stay in this place year after year.

The house as a fixed up relic, and the location is good. But the cleaning is lack luster, and there is a confusing layout. We literally found a discarded pair of underwear just under one of the night stands. The layout is also confusing. To get to some rooms, on the lower floor, you have to go through other bed rooms. For the price, there are FAR better, bigger, and nicer vacation rentals just outside of town.
