Plaza Suite Hotel

Close to the cruise port with an easy walk even with luggage. We stayed in one of the older loft rooms and while it was relatively clean it was more "Motel 6" than "Plaza Suite Resort". There is little to no staff on site with limited check in times and no night staff whatsoever as we found out when our room key did not work when returning from dinner. We were literally locked out of our room for 45 mins and after calling an after hours number we waited for someone to come in and fix the issue. The pictures make it look way nicer than it actually is and not really worth what we paid. If you don't mind those quirks it is within walking distance of pretty much everything and there are lots of great local eateries, cafes, and convenience stores to get what you need.

Living room light string was not reachable-so no light in the LR. We told the front desk on Monday and they informed maintenance (who was at another site at the time). We left and when we returned, we let her know and stayed in our room for 2-3 hours but maintenance never showed. We told her this and she said the guy refused. Tuesday she called & said an independent repair person would come Wednesday am for light fix, but because of security (your sign-not responsible for items stolen from room- your system for that is another issue), we did not want to waste more time waiting in our room so we said no (Thursday was our last day). The front desk attendants are rarely available. 100% unavailable onsite at night (Phone call only). This means no towels, toiletries, etc. until the morning. When I walked in my room there was a huge cockroach crawling on the bed. I am still traumatized. The upstairs and downstairs toilets of my 2 bedroom suite, was out of commission at least 5 times a day to the point I was offered to keep the plunger. They have piping issues throughout the hotel. Other than that, I loved the location. I was able to walk everywhere all days of my stay. Although, I will never stay at this location again!!!!

Staff is great! Rooms are cute and comfy. Small kitchen with real stove and mini fridge/freezer combo. Easy walk into the Quarter. Feels like safe neighborhood. I recommend this place.

5-minute train ride to Bourbon Street. Close to the casino, huge sports bar across the street and another small dive bar with cheap drinks. Restaurants all around the hotel. Comfortable rooms. Recommend highly!!!
