Palmera Inn & Suites

Upon arrival after extensive searching on the company website for their temporary holds/incidental hold price, We were charged the around 23 a night which was declared online. Then an additional $150 undisclosed hold. I know the holds are normal. It’s also normal for it do be disclosed. Then upon bringing it up to the front desk lady she INSTANTLY got rude and didn’t like me saying wow be nicer. She continued to fester on while I scrolled and showed the entirety of the website that the only charge it states is the room and the 23 a night. Which I knew was low but again if we are talking normally, then normally it would be on the website. Normally you would get a hey sorry, not a period driven mess. Positive: We enjoy the room with the loft. Negative: Every time we have stayed at this hotel the front desk staff is very rude and this past stay the breakfast was very lacking. The only protein was powdered eggs that were very watery.

I only stayed here for one night but I'm glad it was here. The staff was wonderful, very welcoming. The room was very clean and had a fully equipped kitchen. The only problem I had was the heater didn't work and it went down to 34°. Never would have guessed it would be that cold in Hilton Head. I would stay here again.

PLEASE beware. I have stayed at this location for many years, even when it was called the Park Lane. Recently, I took my elderly mother there for Thanksgiving. I was astounded at the poor and abusive service I received upon attempting to check in. Upon arrival, I was told I couldn't use my particular credit card to put on file for the security deposit. I had not been informed of this prior to my arrival, even though the desk vocally insisted I had. I pulled up the reservation email with no details about the credit card. At that point, it turned really sour since they were telling me one thing and I had black and white proof that I received different information. I later checked with the credit card and they don't know what the hotel was talking about. The manager escalated this to

We are regular guests. The cleanliness of the rooms is really great (big kudos to the cleaning staff, you are doing a great job!) and this hotel is a good place overall. BUT the service and friendliness at the front desk really needs improvement as it mostly offers a poor experience compared to the rest of the hotel. When we checked in last time we were told in an unfriendly way that they read "all" of our (2) messages. But they never replied or fulfilled our friendly requests which I consider rude if they read it. This is unacceptable and I really felt that I wanna leave right away. We have a couple of upcoming reservations but may cancel if the situation at the front desk doesn't change. We want to feel valued as guests just like we value all employees of the hotel.
