Owl Motel and Suites

The woman who runs the place is great, and most of the people who stay there are pleasant and mostly quiet. The rooms are very dated. They're functional but have no pleasant colors. The bed we had was so old it was taped up on the corners. Also, the pot smoker next to us would smoke in his room, and so our room stunk of it too. Same with cigarettes.

I stayed in an "efficiency" which offered stove, fridge, microwave, and kitchen sink. The room is old, and many things run down or even broken, but all I needed worked fine and everything was reasonably clean. Bed was comfortable, sheets/covers/pillows were clean. TV was fine (HBO was offered) and wifi connection was good. Price is reasonable. Owner was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again. If you can get a suite, I would recommend it.

Terrible experience. First, was sold a "suite" (for $250!) and was told no other smaller rooms were available, but upon arrival the parking lot was empty! We wanted to go to the local beach area so we quickly went to the room to drop off our suitcases. It was filthy! The bathroom was old, dirty with long hairs on the floor. Could barely see my reflection in the mirror that had turned black it was so old. Crumbs were all over near the microwave and the sofas were so disgusting looking and stained I wouldn't even sit on them (and those were the fold-out beds-eww!) In the "bedroom" there were iron burns melted into the rug, and the overall appearance was gross. Lamp didn't work, no alarm clock and after a late night we cautiously climbed into bed under the worn, see-through sheets. I literall

While staying in a Ocean City Motel the man who runs it was going on vacation and we had to leave early. My wife and I want to stay two more nights and we were directed to the Owl Motel in Somers Point. When we got into a room the owner talked and distracted us from looking around. We were paying with a credit card but the owner wanted us to use a debit card so the money came out right away. We got into the room to settle in for the afternoon closed the door. The room smelled straight up like mold, the mattress cover was very stained, and the sheets had mold and stains on them. There was hair on the sheets under the blankets. The room doesn't look anything like the pictures online. We checked in at around 2 pm and had a family emergency where we had to leave less then a half hour after

I have stayed at this motel in a few occasions but would never stay there again. The owner is extremely difficult to deal with and the rates are far too high for the cleanliness and accommodations you should expect upon check in. The rooms are absolutely filthy and the amount of bugs and other disgusting aspects of this old and dated motel are unacceptable for the vast majority of visitors to the area surrounding Ocean City, NJ. The people who will be staying at the motel while you are there will require a very high level of patience and tolerance.
