We Came To Houghton Lake, For A Funeral! We Reserved, This Motel, By Word Of Mouth, That It Was Older & Reasonable & A Nice Clean Place To Stay! When, We Got There It Was Evening & We Didn't Check It Out, Before Going To The Visitation, Of Our Loved One! It Was Older, Which Was No Big Deal, But, Didn't Realize It Would Be, So Dirty! The Sheets, Might Of Been, The Only Thing Clean, Maybe! The Person That Recommended, The Place To Us, Her & Her Husband, Stayed There, Too! She Was So Sorry & Apologized, Because Their Room Was So Dirty, Too! She Said, She Had Stayed There, The Year Before & It Was Nice & Clean, Wow, What A Change! We Will Not Be Staying There, Again!

We Came For A Funeral There, In Houghton Lake/Prudenville! We Had Been Referred Here & Reserved The Room, Over The Phone, Because, It Was In Our Price Range! It's Older & We Knew That & Didn't Mind, The Couple Who Referred Us, Stayed There, Too! She Was So Disappointed, Because, She Said, The Rooms Were Old, But Very Clean! When We Got There, The Place Had Really Went Down, From When She Was There, The Year Before & The Rooms Were, Very Dirty! Would Not Recommend At All!

Old style motel in old part of town. The room needs updating and a deep clean, we stayed one night only and we survived alright. There was nothing special in the area around the motel, the trading post was closed for the season. The owner was friendly.

Nice place honestly, but the owner is clueless on how to manage a motel, He has a hidden gem and treats it like everyone who stays there should kiss his butt. There are allot of places in Houghton Lake. STAY ELSEWHERE.

This place is fabulous. The owners Fred and tom are good guys and they know how to conduct business they will help you out. overall a good place
