Oasis Hotel Waikiki

I recently stayed at Oasis in Waikiki, Honolulu and overall had a really good experience. The service was great from start to finish. The staff were amazing — super kind, friendly, and always willing to help with anything we needed. They really made us feel welcome and taken care of during our stay. We actually stayed here back in 2019 when everything was still looking brand new, and it was such a beautiful property at the time. This visit felt a little different. The photos online didn’t fully match the current reality. The room was a bit more worn than expected and could have been cleaner, and the kitchen gadgets felt outdated and could definitely use an upgrade. The Oasis Hotel is phenomenal! It is in a fantastic location right in the heart of Waikiki. Right next to the shopping strip and a couple minutes from the beach. Great location next to the running path on the canal as well. Little park for pets is right behind the hotel as well for those late night potty breaks. Most importantly, the staff is incredible. Everyone is so helpful and kind. They're always immediately assisting you with what you need. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable. If trade a ritzy stay for a genuinely helpful and respectful staff anytime. Of special note, Aaliyah, Mike, and Mark are hands down some of the best hotel staff I've ever encountered traveling to 38 countries.

Great location and room sizes are good, but this place is way too noisy at night until 4am. People party just outside the hotel ... front and back. Very loud so hard to get a good night sleep. Plus, many things in the rooms require simple maintenance. HVAC did not function properly and the toilets ran all night. We even changed rooms and the second room had the same problems.

The photos on Expedia were very misleading, room is older and in rougher shape then shown. The room also had a very musty smell. When we asked to switch rooms thinking it may have just been that room, we were told by the gentleman working that they were sold out for the night and would try and do something the next day. We never heard back. On a positive note breakfast was great and the front desk lady Aaliyah (I think that’s how it’s spelled) had great customer service and was always in a good mood.

Positive: the location was excellent - close to shopping and the beach. Negative: Continental breakfast did not meet my expectations. No decaf coffee, pastries in plastic wrap, grapes for fruit, and nothing fresh or healthy to be found. We reserved 2 king bed rooms and neither rooms were as reserved - both with 2 beds.
