Customer Reviews
A good experience overall but felt a little underwhelming for the price. Our table all opted for the Nobu premium, multi-course omakase experience at $195/ea, a 7-course omakase experience at Nobu Chicago, priced at $195 per person. This exclusive menu featured premium selections such as a sashimi tasting, seasonal features, and a specialty dessert crafted by their pastry team. While everything was nice, having been fortunate enough to visit several Michilin star restaurants in my time this was slightly a let down. I'm from Vancouver, BC, Canada and we are spoiled with amazing sushi everywhere so based off that baseline this was at best 4/5 and that's probably me being a bit generous. I think the hype of NOBU set me up to be slightly disappointed as well.
Honestly a very overrated and overhyped brunch buffet. The food was good but not $80 worth good. Cocktail shrimp was large and fresh, and the nigiri sushi was delicious. The service was kind of lacking. Even though it was a buffet, the waiters rarely came around to refill drinks. Unless you’re going to eat plate after plate after plate, I would skip the brunch buffet and opt for a nicer sit down meal from the regular menu.
Wow! We had a great night! Starting with our server Jen. She was so knowledgeable. I had the Empire martini, my husband had Chi-town cooler. We started with the cucumber salad and spicy tuna crispy rice. Next was the Wagyu tacos and a king crab taco. Then we got the shrimp tempura roll, eggplant miso, rock shrimp tempura, and miso cod. After all that we still found room for dessert. Miso cake with banana gelato and tiramiso with gelato. We ordered a second serving of the Wagyu tacos. For us, we could have done without the eggplant and the rock shrimp. Amazing dinner!!!
I went to the brunch buffet at Nobu on Sunday. The host and all the staff are great. Place is nice decoration. Cocktail is good. Food station is not impressed at all for the price we paid 75 ++ per person. I think this price, Nobu could do better quality and options. Hot food it’s not hot as it’s pre cook and put under the heat lamp for a while until it’s not hot and fresh and still standing there until someone pick it up. Dessert is good enough but need to manage the flies. I think brunch somewhere else is better to pay this price.
My Husband and I were looking to book a 5 star hotel in Chicago- and we went with Nobu. And, it was the best decision ever. We stayed Christmas Eve- till Christmas morning. The atmosphere was relaxing, and calm staff. Which we appreciated as we went to go see the Nutcracker at Lyric Opera House before checking in the Nobu Hotel. The hotel room was so edgy/cool, but still remained minimalistic and classy. With dark marble, and sleek interior design. It was exactly what I was looking for. And, my husband also loved the design of the hotel. The room provides two cozy white-Nobu Robes, alcoholic drinks, and snacks. Of course more amenities- fridge, coffee maker, spacious closet, shoe bag, garment steamer, cool light setup near bed, and around the room. Look up Nobu amenities for more detail. T
