Newport Channel Inn

We did 1 night and it was good! Classic motel. Clean, basic amenities, and right by the beach. Easy check in, had a stand up shower, and the next morning easy to grab breakfast out and head to the beach. Wouldn’t want to stay there for too many nights with the two kiddos, they do better with tubs right now, but it was perfect for a one night. And there was even a playground in the neighborhood right behind the motel! It was a good find.

Room was ready and hr before check in time but they wanted $50 to go in early? Room smelled bad. Room amenities just about zero. Tiniest soaps ever. Shower and bathroom old. Sink miniature. Close to the beach across a highway I think. Just came from the Hilton in Long Beach (same price) and like going from day to night

Great last minute booking. Convenient to good places to eat and the beach. Friendly staff and clean facilities. The prices was very fair for the amenities.

I booked this hotel through airbnb. They canceled my booking at the very last minute and didn't even care leaving a message or try to make it right. They just refunded me but because it was 8:00 pm already and no options available for last minute booking nearby, I ended up in a hotel 2 times more expensive. Not reliable business, avoid if possible!
