Newport Beach Marriott Bayview

Check-in wrapped up almost instantly the staff were quick, collected, and refreshingly genuine rather than going through the motions. The room was clean down to the last corner and beautifully quiet, breakfast was simple and done well, and a calm street outside took care of everything else, giving us the kind of deep, unbroken sleep that's hard to come by. What surprised us most was how much this place delivered for the price the kind of find you don't forget and absolutely return to.

I really enjoy this property. The property is beautiful with a lot of great common spaces and outdoor areas. The bar and restaurant has great food which is also available for in room dining when you don’t feel like going out. ||The property is also right next to North Back Bay Trail and Bayview Park. This lets you feel like you can escape the city and enjoy walks along the water in Back Bay. ||Large comfortable rooms and the views of the bay are great. The small balcony is a really nice addition for enjoying sunsets too. My room had a spacious living room area and desk, which when opening the balcony slider to enjoy the weather made for a fantastic workspace. I travel a lot and frequently work from by hotel on extended stays and this location was perfect for me. ||I also want to compliment

Positive: The restaurant/bar was open most of the time and the food was really great. People seemed to really enjoy hanging out in the casual atmosphere. The outdoor seating area overlooking the bay was a great place to catch some sun and relax in the afternoon. Negative: The water temperature would abruptly change while using the shower, so had to be careful and ready to move out of the way.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience needs to be shared. There was visible mold and significant water damage on the bathroom ceiling in our room. I reported it to staff during our stay, but nothing was done. After we checked out, management claimed there was no mold present, which is simply not true. I have clear photo evidence showing the mold and the water damage. There was also ongoing water leaking from the hallway ceiling for our entire stay, with obvious signs of continued water damage. It’s concerning that guests are being placed in rooms with these conditions. Staff is friendly, room is nice. Rooms need to be updated but the upsides to this hotel far outweigh any downsides. I rented the king bed room and it comes with a true king sized bed. I travel a lot for work and most King rooms are not actual king beds, so this is a nice surprise! In my standard king room, I have windows that open, a balcony, a shower, a tub, two TVs, a coffee station and a great desk for working! The location is great, and easy to access, staff is friendly, and the price is right! I’ll be back!
