Hyatt Regency Newport Beach

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the grounds were clean and well maintained. The pools and hot tubs were great, and the pickleball courts were a fun bonus. The location is also very convenient, which made getting around easy. That said, the room setup was a bit challenging for our family of four. The beds are smaller than a traditional doubl. They felt outdated and quite lumpy. There wasn’t much support, and they creaked whenever you turned over, which made for less restful sleep. If the mattresses were updated and slightly larger, this would have been a much more comfortable stay. Overall, a good property with room for improvement in the sleeping arrangements.

The hotel is in a great location, even if you are walking, though wear some good shoes. The grounds are pleasant but our stay was marred because of a lazy maid who, rather than placing new sheets on the bed, simply readjusted the sheets. Imagine my wife's surprise when later that evening she discovers a used straw stuck to her rear end. Also, though I may be in the minority, I was very disappointed to see that the books which had formed a small library retreat had been replaced with dozens of game stations.

Positive: Large room and proper thermostat. Negative: The resort fee and self-parking fees are ridiculous. It’s winter time and they are charging for use of pool and golf course that I would never use. Self-parking is a 5-minute walk each way to a huge lot. $40 per night is a kick in the teeth.

Normally I wait until checking out to decide if I’ll stay again…not here though. Absolutely fantastic from top to bottom; as an out-of-stater I didn’t know what to expect. The restaurant was outstanding and, in my opinion, priced very fair (also ask for Rob, hilarious). Room is clean, everyone is so nice, the amenities are great especially considering the room price, and could you ask for a better location? Also worth mentioning we parked in a 26 foot box truck with no problem. Please don’t look anywhere else.

We did a day staycation at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The service truly stood out. Ava was our server at the pool in the morning and was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. In the afternoon, Julia took over and continued that same level of care, making sure we always had what we needed without ever feeling rushed or overlooked. A huge highlight was Entuit, the manager. It was honestly impressive to see her everywhere throughout the resort. She was checking in with guests, stepping in to help staff when needed, and even rotating employees to make sure everyone was taken care of.
