We had a wonderful stay with Norma in her charming row house just steps from the Delaware river. Breakfast was delicious and conversation was lively. In some ways, it felt more like we were staying in a friend's house than in a bed and breakfast. The room was large, clean, and nicely furnished. Independence Hall was about a 15-20 minute walk away; other attractions like the Barnes Foundation and the restaurants on 16th Street were farther, but still walkable or a relatively (by DC standards) inexpensive taxi ride. Norma mentioned that there had been some problems with noise from a new bar next door, and even provided ear plugs, but we had no need - it was perfectly quiet. We also really enjoyed cocktails at the Twisted Tavern just around the corner and the great farmers market on Sunday.

Located within a charming 19th century home that has been lovingly modernized, New Market B & B has a warm host & a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This was my second stay on the 3rd floor of Norma's B&B.||I love the location - close to downtown and near the best Mexican restaurant.||Norma has great taste and is a lovely, attentive hostess.||Excellent home made breakfasts.||Excellent value.||If you are looking for a modern, spotless place - you may be disappointed. The house was lovingly restored in the late 70s and is owned and operated by an elderly person. The fixtures are not brand new and you may see some dust if you look too closely BUT it has is clean, charming, historical, tasteful and comfortable. Norma is engaging, smart & lovely & always has a fresh and interesting breakfast!

Visited Philly with another couple for 3 nights and truly enjoyed our stay at this historic home. Our host was very accommodating. The three breakfasts were delicious. The stairs are small and typical of such a old house. We walked or used cab service. This is in a great location. The rooms were clean and spacious. The other couple had tv issues but we never turned ours on. The wi-fi worked well. We would love to return.

Norma was a fantastic host, welcoming and incredibly concerned and helpful when our car was towed away! The house was clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was freshly prepared and cooked for us. It was affordable and in a pretty area accessible to shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and the historic part of town. It provided us with everything and more that we had hoped for. We would thoroughly recommend staying there.||||The only criticism is that the photo doesn't do it justice!
