This is a very modern MINIMALISTIC hotel. It has wonderful amenities for guests as well as the community. There is an activities offered each day throughout the week, which is really great. The drinks at the bar are really good - not too strong not too weak. There was a really good crowd in the lobby area which I really did enjoy. The hotel staff was very pleasant & my room overall was very clean.
Positive: The four queen beds were nice for our family. The lobby area was nice to sit and hang out at Negative: Several things frustrated us upon our arrival:The luggage carts had flat tires & broken frameBroken key scanner on doorBroken lock on main door & balcony doorMirror was brokenLight bulb was brokenSand on floorDirty rag on floorPhone had no cord
Overall a decent stay for the price, relatively inexpensive during the off-season. Rooms not very large, designed to be "modern" but lacking practicality : insufficient lighting, pedestal sink in the walkway, no real table to put your luggage or bags on. The noise isolation on the street side could be better (you hear the sirens, loud cars). Bed was confortable though, bathroom was clean and renovated. For the price, good enough for a night or two but a rough around the edges.
This was my second time staying at a Moxy, and I found it to be a really nice change of pace compared to my usual hotel choices. I'm normally more inclined to book those traditional, more standard hotel options, but this was definitely a more unique and memorable experience. It didn't feel quite like a typical hotel in certain aspects. I'd absolutely consider staying there again in the future.
My husband, our dog, and I had a great stay at the Moxy Virginia Beach. (We are professionals in our mid 30s) The overall vibe of the hotel is fun, creative, and very social. The lobby area with games and seating makes it easy to hang out and relax, which gives the hotel a really welcoming atmosphere. It’s clearly very dog- and kid-friendly, which adds to the casual and lively feel. The Belvedere downstairs was a great spot for breakfast, and the bar and lobby areas were excellent for spending time in the evenings. The hotel is also extremely close to the beach and has a great outdoor lounge area to enjoy the ocean air. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but they worked well for my husband, our dog, and me. The balcony was a good size and made it easy to enjoy some time outsi
