Positive: Staff was portly trained and laughed when he made a big financial error, which I don’t know it it was resolved. Negative: Smoke smell. Staff was impatient and lacked knowledge for their systems.

The staff is outstanding! They provide fantastic, personal customer service. Excellent all around. The hotel has a few things I wasn't thrilled about - no closets or drawers for belongings (only pegs for hanging clothes) means you have to live out of your suitcase. The walls are very thin, and I could very clearly hear conversations and music from the people in the next room. The thermostat was a mystery and didn't seem to be functioning properly. I was finally able to turn it off. But the bed was comfortable and the shower was nice, so all-around it was a good experience.

The Moxy is a nice place to stay for a weekend while visiting Tempe. Close to what Tempe had to offer and the vibe is really laid back. The check-in staff were very easy to work with. Especially getting our booking figured out after I reserved the correct days but the wrong month... You should of seen their faces when we checked in 9-months early 😅. After getting that all squared away, we were delighted to receive a complimentary cocktail at the bar. The room was clean and well maintained. The decor is something you'd have to experience. The vibe is retro, laid back hipster, but in a good way. Very nice.

I had a great experience staying at this Moxy last week. I was able to chat with the manager for a good bit of time, learned about his care for his hotel, and the diligence he takes when caring for it and staffing. This also led to one of the best service experiences I’ve had in a long time at a Moxy. The bartenders, Janaea and Shy, were calm, chill and handled everything with ease, even during a busy shift. This place deserves recognition for staff like this. You could tell they took pride in doing a great job. Wish I could have service like this everywhere I go. Definitely coming back.

PROS: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location - very walkable to many restaurants and grocery stores Extra amenities and towels are available at a room at the end of the hall, don’t need to go to the front desk or call CONS: Room had a slightly musty smell Maintenance issues (Difficult for room door to detect key and open, gym is small and worn-out equipment, thermostat on wall in room was broken so needed to use buttons directly on unit) No in-room refrigerators Only one trash can in the room, only in the bathroom I appreciate Marriott trying innovative new concepts and mirroring concepts like Airbnbs and hostels that are popular in many other environments. The problem is not that these changes are made from a standard hotel room, but so many changes are made at once, it’s
