Mountain View Lodge

Probably the best deal in Packwood, at least in winter, if all you really need is a place to stay and won't be hanging out all day. Rather small rooms (2 people in the queen room I had would have been tight), but nice enough space. There is at least a common area on the first floor with some table space if you need it. The bathroom had gotten at least a partial update, but was very tight and awkward to move in. The room cleaning was a bit lacking as I found residue from a prior guest's soap still on the side of the sink. The heater control was also exceptionally unintuitive with a vague attempt at adjusting by feel, except it seemed to work the opposite of what the label would indicate. A solid lodging option near Mt. Rainier National Park. We stayed for two nights. Our room was clean and comfortable, but the bed had an overly soft foam topper combined with so-so quality sheets that made for hot sleeping conditions (and thus less good sleep for us). Service was good, and the location is a short drive from downtown Packwood.

Our cabin was a pleasant surprise, with plenty of space, very clean and great kitchen facilities. The lodge is located a short walk from town, with 2 breweries, a marketplace and fuel station all available. It provided us easy access to Mt Rainier NP. Our check-in was smooth and very friendly also. Good value stop for 2 nights. A HUGE bonus was when Kong (manager) fixed our puncture the morning of our departure back to Seattle airport. So willing to help us and have us on our way. Greatly appreciated and not to be forgotten. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We stay here regularly for our winter ski trips. A very clean and well run establishment. The manager Lily is very friendly and accommodating.

I had a great stay here a few months ago! The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet even though it’s close to the road. The bathroom was also very nice and well-maintained. Overall, an excellent experience — I’d definitely stay here again!
