Motel Lake McDonald

We chose this motel for a few reasons. First, we wanted to stay in Glacier NP and did not want to worry about vehicles reservations. Second, after spending a LOT of money to stay at Many Glacier Hotel we wanted to save some money here. This motel is very reasonable in price. Third, we were not able to secure reservations at the more expensive Lake McDonald Hotel next door. We were very happy with our choice in the end. Motel Lake McDonald is convenient. The other hotel and all of the restaurants and camp stores are right next door and only a 5 minute walk from this motel. This is as close as some of the more expensive cabins that are part of Lake McDonald Hotel and is much less expensive. Our room with 2 queen beds was on the 2nd floor at the back of the building. As seems to be the case with other reviewers here we booked this motel because it was the only option for the time that we were going to be in Glacier Park that also was not going to break the bank.|Other than the location, I don't have very much else to say that is nice. The shower is the size of a shower in an RV ,impossible to turn around or put your arms up to shampoo your head. Extremely basic room, which was alright because we did not spend that much time there.I had to go down to the office and ask for clean towels as there did not seem to be any housekeeping.|It was very nice to be next to Lake McDonald and the grounds of the Lodge are beautiful.

Good location overall but there is no view of the lake nor is there lake access. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was ok but the carpet was very stained and dirty. There was trash and dirt under the beds. Bathroom is extremely small and watch out for the poorly placed glass shelf.

Just got back from Glacier trip. Stayed at Motel Lake McDonald for 2 nights. Bathroom was small but overall nice place to stay on west side of Glacier that give you access to going to the sun road. Easy walking distance to general store and Hotel Lake McDonald. Spent each night at the lake. We had 4 rooms booked. Staff checked with me beforehand about who could check in to rooms and if anyone needed special accommodations which I appreciated. Also, we left AirPods and a couple of shirts. Contacted motel and got all items back on our way back through the west side. Appreciated the staff helping to retrieve these lost items.

I stayed at Motel Lake McDonald for 5 nights as part of a Road Scholar trip to explore Glacier National Park. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean. The mattress in room 16 is very soft, a bit worn, and about ready to be replaced and as mentioned in other reviews, the shower, and bathroom in general are on the small side and there is little insulation between the rooms, so it can be a bit noisy, but all that is to be expected from an older motel; I was grateful to have accommodations at the end of hiking every day in Glacier National Park. The staff is very friendly, efficient, and professional. I experienced exceptional service from Ryan. The location of the motel is desirable too, within walking distance of a camp store and to the restaurant at the Lake McDonald Lodge. I will not he
