I ended up stopping by a cute little café located inside the hotel while my family headed out for another hike. I decided to sit, relax, and order lunch—and I’m so glad I did. I ordered a sandwich that was absolutely amazing. Even though the café was packed, the servers made me feel like I was the only person there. They truly knew what they were doing, and my food came out quickly, which was wonderful. I loved being able to open the windows and feel the breeze—it added so much to the experience. The café itself was incredibly charming, with absolutely stunning views. I even ended up meeting a sweet couple while I was there, and to my surprise, I found myself starting to write my wedding vows as I sat at the table. Built in 1913-1914, the 3.5-story lodge is a National Historic Landmark known for its massive stone fireplace and rustic lobby decorated in a hunting-lodge theme. 2026 Operating Season The lodge operates seasonally and will be open for the following dates in 2026: Opening Day: May 15, 2026 (starting at 12:00 PM). Closing Day: September 28, 2026 (closing at 12:00 PM). Accommodations The property offers 82 guest rooms across four distinct lodging types. This review is for Snyder Hall on the property of Lake McDonald Lodge. We stayed there on October 1, 2025, the last night they were open for the season. This is a very rustic and dormitory style accommodation, which we knew when we reserved the room, but we wanted to stay in the park and it was all that was available. We were given the downstairs room to the right of the fireplace. The large common room in the center of the cabin had two small tables, a huge non- working wood burning fireplace, and two small chairs, one of which was in the corner in front of our room. The room itself was very clean, with clean bedding and towels. It had a sink, and coffee maker, a small chair and a full size bed that tipped at a 30 degree angle towards the wall and a mattress that must have been to origi

We didn't stay at the lodge but we stopped in for a few hours to catch the views and see the sunset! The lodge was beautiful but was too expensive for our family of 10. However it was well worth it to stop in and see the incredible views from the shore.

We had the dome room. It is clean and bed is so comfy. Everything we need. The lobby is so beautiful. Beautiful lake view. Cannot ask for more.
