The Village Inn

The Apgar Village Inn was the perfect place to stay for our family trip to GNP! The rooms are decorated for the period and it is so cool! Food at Eddies was great and so convenient right there by the hotel. Also great to have the Red Bus pickup right there. Nothing can top the view from every room -it catches your breath when you walk into your room every time! We loved it!

The Village Inn is at Apgar Village at the south end of McDonald lake. The views of McDonald Lake at Apgar Village are spectacular especially with the mountains in the background of the lake. The Village Inn is a two story 1960’s vintage motel that still feels and looks like a 1960’s motel. If you can, try to get a room on the lower level. You will have an unobstructed view of the lake from your room and chairs outside your room. The second level rooms have a partially obstructed view due to the solid railing along the walkway there.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! Aside from Many Glacier Hotel this is the best view in the park and the best view in West Glacier for sure. Absolutely stunning. Historic Hotel. Front Desk/Staff were all very kind and friendly. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Heater made it nice and toasty quickly in cold October. Beds are comfortable with great linens. Bathrooms are nice with great towels and toiletries. Decent water pressure but made up for in hot hot hot water. Very nice!! I’ll say it again the view is spectacular. Walls are a bit thin but everyone seems to be quiet and respectful at a decent hour. Great location inside park. You can walk around Apgar village and shop and eat. Going to the Sun and Camas road are right around the corner. If you can get reservations, definitely stay he

The best part of the Village Inn is the view. It’s amazing. Right on the lake. The view from the rooms on the second floor can’t be beat. We loved the access to the lake..walk out your door and down some steps and you can jump into the crystal clear fresh water to swim. If they could add some mini fridge’s & microwave to the rooms it would be perfect. With limited food options in the village it would be very helpful to be able to store some fresh food for breakfast and hikes.

I have stayed in most of the facilities that GNP offers. This to me is one of my favorites. It isn't too crowded due to its size and the location is perfect! The lake view is incredible!! When staying in a Montana national park there are certain things you need to be aware: typically no AC, no phones, no TV, no room service. This is normal and both responsible and encourages people to stay in the experience. This is one of the few places you do get cell service in the park and if having issues, you don't have to drive far to get it.
