Motel 6 Tucumcari, NM

I stopped here as my very first stay on my trip, and this Motel 6 truly exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the property was well managed, and the room was very clean. Hot water was consistent and perfect after a long drive. The location is also super convenient, right off I-40. Overall, a great place to stop and rest. I would definitely stay here again.

We were looking for a quick inexpensive spot to stay on a trip from WI to AZ. The room was clean, the staff was wonderful and they even had free coffee ready to go. The place is under new management and it seems like a lot of updating was going on. Good job and we will be back soon. Also, very easy to get off and back on the interstate.

Currently lying down for night 2 of a 3 day trip. Previous night was also at a Motel 6 in Flagstaff, which I hold no complaint, but Tucumcari brought the bar low for me. First, the room smelled heavily of smoke as soon as I walked in. I’m already coming down with a cold, so this irritated my respiratory system all night. It’s winter, but oddly enough, the heater wasn’t already warming the room for potential guests. Linen was not clean, and I fear bed bugs everywhere I travel, so this was not comfortable at all. No, I did not contact the staff about this during this stay as this should never have happened in the first place. Seriously never had any issues with Motel 6 before this. Sorry but I paid to sleep on someone else’s hair, so I couldn’t keep this to myself. 0/10.

I stayed in Tucumcari for two nights. The floors were absolutely nasty, sticky and had not been mopped for what seems days. There was dust and dirt and trash under the beds, no smoke detectors in the room, the electrical in the rooms is a HUGE fire hazard. Nothing stays plugged in. The cheap laminate flooring was cracking and tearing EVERYWHERE. Curb appeal was poor. The doors don’t close unless you slam them. Air leaks in the doors. AC units thermostat was reading that my room was 42 degrees when it was like 75.
